Short Courses Feedback Survey
The Short Courses Feedback Survey (SCFS) consolidates student feedback on short course activities. The SCFS allows short course coordinators and presenters to identify aspects of courses that may be further developed.
SCFS Questions
The survey includes eight core ratings-based questions and two open-ended questions. Course coordinators may customise their survey with a further eight questions (ratings only). The survey should take a maximum of ten minutes to complete.
The eight core ratings-based questions are:
- The short course was delivered in a way which was consistent with its stated objectives.
- I developed skills and/or knowledge relevant to professionals in my field.
- My learning experiences in this short course were interesting and thought provoking.
- The teaching staff seemed to know the subject matter well.
- The teaching staff presented material in a way that made it easy to understand.
- There were appropriate resources available to support this short course.
- The administration and management of the course was of a high standard.
- Overall I am satisfied with the quality of this short course.
The open-ended questions are:
- What did you particularly like about this short course?
- Please suggest any improvements that could be made to this short course.
- Please feel free to use the back of this form to make any other comments, particularly in relation to the above ratings.
Ordering a Short Courses Feedback Survey
Please read these instructions carefully befor submitting your request for a SCFS.
- Fill in all requested details, including up to eight further questions, as relevant to your Faculty/Unit. You may create your own questions, or take questions from the Item Bank.
- Lodge the order form by pressing the "Submit" button at the bottom of the page. It will automatically be submitted to the Planning and Quality Unit.
- You will receive your customised survey through internal mail by the date nominated on your order form.
- Surveys must then be distributed to students at the nominated time. They should take no longer than seven minutes to complete.
- Once students have completed their surveys, they should be collected and sealed in the return envelope by a nominated student. This envelope should then be returned to the Planning & Quality Unit (Building 2, level 4, room 428, City Campus).
- PQU will process the data and produce a report which will be sent to the Short Course coordinator along with the original survey forms.
- It is the responsibility of the coordinator to pass on and discuss the results to appropriate colleagues, such as course presenters and your Dean or Director. Survey data should be used to direct continuous improvements to your short course program.
