How will we know we are living the UTS Values?

Regarding the DISCOVER value:

  • we educate practitioners and leaders in the professions and industry for Australia and internationally who are equipped for ongoing learning in the pursuit of personal development and excellence in professional practice;
  • our research outcomes are recognised for their quality and depth;
  • staff and students feel comfortable to come up with ideas, and are recognised for doing so;
  • UTS is recognised as a active participant in public debate.

Regarding the ENGAGE value:

  • students, staff and the community are drawn to UTS as a friendly place - a 'stickycampus' where students want to spend both academic and recreational time;
  • cross-faculty and cross-unit collaboration is high;
  • staff volunteerism is occurring throughout the university;
  • we understand the issues for the professions, industry and government and help find solutions collaboratively;
  • students work with others while managing their own work.

Regarding the EMPOWER value:

  • students learn and are assisted to complete their studies in spite of any difficulties;

  • we routinely consider long term impacts in our decision-making;
  • staff and students voluntarily take actions to improve the environmental sustainability of university operations;
